J. Scott Hodgkins is a partner in the firm's Los Angeles office and currently serves as global Co-chair of the firm's Company Representation Practice Group. He has practiced with the firm since 1995. Mr. Hodgkins' practice focuses on securities matters for public companies and matters of corporate finance for both issuers and investment banks, and includes public offerings and private placements of debt and equity securities, as well as public and private merger and acquisition transactions. He has handled matters ranging from venture capital to billion-dollar transactions. Mr. Hodgkins represents clients across various industries including the investment banking, energy, real estate, gaming, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, wireless technology and consumer products industries.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Hodgkins was a Senior Tax Manager at Ernst & Young LLP. While practicing as a Certified Public Accountant, his practice focused principally on corporate tax matters including mergers, acquisitions and consolidated reporting issues. Mr. Hodgkins' industry experience while in public accounting included the healthcare, insurance, manufacturing and retail industries.
