Lawrence Hurwitz founded Lawrence Financial Group (LFG) in Los Angeles in 1990. LFG is a California investment banking firm. Since its founding, Lawrence Financial has provided approximately $7 billion in financing for several hundred west coast companies. Funding has been provided on accounts receivable, inventory, equipment and real estate. Other areas of specialization have been purchase order financing and raising funds on intellectual properties such as brands and trademarks.
Lawrence lives in Brentwood and has two children, a boy, 14, and a 28-year-old daughter. He is a native of Austin, Tx, and attended University of Texas and Harvard University Graduate School of Business. At Harvard, he was awarded the degree of Master in Business Administration with Distinction and subsequently enrolled in Harvard’s doctoral program, receiving an appointment to its teaching staff.
Mr. Hurwitz later moved to Wall Street to become chief executive of a New York Stock Exchange member firm and also served as President of a family owned 150-store chain of retail clothing stores.
