LOS ANGELES – Dennis McCarthy, managing director of B. Riley & Co., and Nevin Sanli, president of Sanli Pastore & Hill, have been named co-chairs of the Los Angeles Venture Association’s 14th annual Investment Capital Conference, to be held April 11 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown L.A.
“We are delighted to have Dennis and Nevin leading the way in the coming year,” said LAVA president Robert K. Whyte, senior managing director of Mosaic Capital. “Their energy, creativity and drive for excellence will ensure that this premier business event is only better in 2007.”
McCarthy, formerly a senior investment banker with Prudential Securities, Drexel Burnham Lambert and EF Hutton & Co., joined B. Riley in 2004. His recent transactions include mezzanine financing for Ready Pac, a public offering for Pinnacle Entertainment and the merger of Hycor Biomedical with Stratagene.
Sanli is a co-founder of Sanli Pastore & Hill and has valued more than 1,000 businesses during his career. He specializes in fairness and solvency opinions, M&A opinions and stock option valuations and frequently speaks on business valuation to professional organizations.
The LAVA Investment Capital Conference is one of the premier annual business events on the West Coast. It provides an ideal shared experience for senior executives, entrepreneurs, board members, capital sources, and key advisors. It features a day-long program of top-level panels and speakers exploring what investors are looking for, how companies can make themselves more attractive to investors, and where companies can find capital at each stage in their growth. The event is capped in the afternoon by The Capital ZoneTM in which executives and capital providers mix freely to make connections and explore opportunities.
